The team and I are taking on a two-day kayak challenge to raise funds for SPACE (Supporting Parents and Children Everywhere), a charity that provides vital support to families of neurodivergent children.

We will be kayaking approximately 33 miles along the River Dee from Llangollen to Chester. Paddling the full distance over two days, this will be a physically demanding challenge requiring preparation, resilience and teamwork—but it feels like a fitting way to support a cause that means so much to us.

My son has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and like many families, we are navigating the learning curve that comes with understanding, advocating for, and supporting him in the best way we can. Organisations like SPACE make a real difference, offering guidance, community and practical support to parents who often feel overwhelmed or unsure where to turn.

This challenge is our way of giving something back. We’ve set ourselves a fundraising target—but we would love to go beyond that and raise as much as possible to support the incredible work SPACE does.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly to SPACE and help them continue supporting families across the region.
