Story
As part of my ongoing support for the amazing people at Down Syndrome UK and for the help they give Elizabeth, as well as the many families with ‘homies with extra chromies’ I’m now finally getting the chance to tick this off my bucket list!

This is one of those events I always ‘wanted’ to do, but being terrified of heights always hindered my desire to go through with it. But, as ever, Elizabeth inspires me to do things I never though it could, so here I am, prepping to test my nerve once again!

It’s not too fine a point to say that, without DSUK, Elizabeth might not be here right now. When we were told that Elizabeth had Down Syndrome, we were given info from medical professionals that would have fitted the 1970s. Faced with the incredibly difficult choice of continuing the pregnancy with the fear that had been instilled by our consultant, or to, as he put it, ‘have everything wrapped up by Christmas’ it was the education, support, and community of DSUK that brought us from the brink and gave us the strength to go ahead. To say we made the right choice is the grossest of understatements, and we continue to benefit from their community and support in ways we couldn’t repay…but I’m giving it a try.

Please support this amazing cause by giving what you can! Every penny goes straight to those in need and will be hugely appreciated by those at DSUK!
