My name is Craig and I am 45 years old. Four and a half years ago, I developed Ulcerative Colitis, and six months later, I faced the challenge of enteropathic arthritis. It was a dark time for me and my family, filled with heartache that took a toll on us both physically and mentally. Yet, amidst these struggles, there were many reasons to push through and reclaim my health. One of those reasons is the JHF Youth Charity.

As a mentor at the JHF, I have the privilege of witnessing firsthand the positive impact our work has on young people. A mentor's role is to help each individual become the best version of themselves through one-on-one mentoring sessions and group work in schools. We guide them in understanding their feelings and needs while exploring how these affect their behaviors. Helping young people build confidence, develop coping strategies for difficult emotions, and foster positive thinking is truly uplifting.

I refused to let my illnesses prevent me from engaging in this vital work—especially when I see the determination these young individuals display despite their own challenges. Their resilience inspires me to push myself beyond limits to raise funds for the JHF so that even more young people can access the support they desperately need.

I am taking on a personal trek challenge set by Venari Partners: trekking and rafting through the Columbian Jungle on November 22, 2025. This beast of a challenge covers 100 km across rough terrain while ascending high into the jungle canopy. It will be a grueling test for me both physically and mentally. Just as the JHF inspired me to recover my health, they will motivate me to succeed in this jungle adventure.
