Story
In the aftermath of Jo's sudden passing i have felt it important to continue her legacy of raising funds for and awareness of Epilepsy. After the huge success of the 10k walk last May I want to try and once again raise some money and awareness of a cause that needs far greater prominence than it has.
So here we are. This year has been sink or swim and I have taken this literally. I have been on a huge fitness drive of the likes I'd never even dreamt of. My initial plan to run 10k doesn't seem ambitious enough so I'm going way out of my comfort zone, a half marathon.
So for someone who always considered "fun run" an oxymoron this is the challenge. Both my brother and myself intend to run the Great North Run in September and I'm asking people once again if they can donate or share this link I'd be very grateful.
Life without Jo is without doubt the biggest challenge I've ever faced, but if I can beat the Great North Run then I know Jo would be proud and astonished in equal measure.
Thank you for your support!
Epilepsy is a common health condition, that too many people know nothing about. Most people see epilepsy as an inconvenience. Flashing lights and falling over. Not an unpredictable and potentially fatal condition.
Epilepsy Action is creating a world without limits for everyone affected by epilepsy, connecting people with others, and providing support and information you can trust. We’re calling out the misunderstanding, prejudice and barriers that stop people with epilepsy living their best life.
Epilepsy says stop. We say go.
