Story

Last year Gregg and myself decided we would enter the ballot for the Great North Run (mainly because we had been told there was little chance of being successful!). However, surprisingly we both received places.

We have set up this just giving page in order to fund raise for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) who provides pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year and are not NHS funded. GNAAS operates 3 helicopter air ambulances across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria and during 2024 recieved 2083 call outs.

We are doing this in memory of my beautiful niece Casey, who we tragically lost at aged 19 in October 2018. Casey certainly lived life to the fullest and, would want all of us to do the same.

Gregg and myself originally set ourselves the ambitious challenge of completing the GNR under 1 hour 40 minutes. However we are just going to aim for the best we can on the day, as lets face it life is still for living and, completing it will be a great achievement regardless of the time.

Every single donation counts no matter how big or small. It’s unbelievable that a service so vital to our area depends upon charitable donations and any of us could rely on this service to save our lives or that of our loved ones.

Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause, it means alot. We and the GNAAS are very grateful and thankyou for your support.

Craig and Gregg.
