Following the success of last year's Rock2Rock cycle ride, I will be cycling La Route des Grandes Alpes.

Starting from Thonon-Les-Bains on the shores of Lake Geneva on 29th July, I will be cycling 474 miles down to the Mediterranean paradise of Nice (St Laurent du Var), arriving on 5th August.

The route will take me through some of the most breathtaking scenery and famous climbs of the Alps (all 53,190ft of them including Alpe d'Huez, Col du Galibier and Col de la Bonette!)

I am raising awareness and funds for a homeless veterans charity called Launchpad. They provide vital accommodation and support to homeless veterans who have struggled with the transition from the military into civilian life.

The charity manages three houses in Liverpool, Newcastle, and Durham and accepts veterans from all over the UK. It provides accommodation for 100 homeless veterans and their partners where relevant. These projects often provide the first safe space in which veterans have slept for months or years.
