Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After leaving the military diagnosed with PTSD,
Relating to injuries sustained in a motar attack in iraq 2007 and again in Afghanistan 2009 whist on a foot patrol I stood on a I.E.D
I understand firsthand the battles that many face while living with mental health issues. Loneliness, anxiety, and depression can cast a long shadow over one's life. However, everything changed for me after participating in a core programme with Climbing Out. This experience allowed me to make sense of my feelings and finally gain control over my emotional output.
The work that Climbing Out does is truly life-saving. They provide invaluable support to those struggling after encounting a life-changing injury, illness or trauma, helping individuals find their way back to a brighter path.
On the programme, I made a promise to myself to take on the massive challenge of climbing the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain on the African continent at 5895m. I want to prove to myself that I’m capable of anything I set my mind to.
I am raising funds for Climbing Out - they helped me take back control of my life and showed me life can go on after injury. I want to pay my experience forward by raising the funds to provide support for more people who are suffering in silence, and to hopefully inspire others who have experienced PTSD.
As I prepare for a Kilimanjaro Trek, I am reaching out to you for your support.
I have set a target of £500 to help further the mission of Climbing Out.
but im confident we can do better!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, and for supporting me in any way you can.
