Story

If my teenage self could see me now he would be in shock! The kid who would bunk off school or finish last in the dreaded cross country sessions is now running the 2025 London Marathon.

I'll be honest, never in a million years did I ever think this would be possible or even have a desire to do it, but over the last 6 years I would say that I've been on a little journey. From initially losing around 6 stone through eating healthier and more importantly exercising, it's now time to take on this mammoth challenge.

Over the last year I have lost track a little both with exercise and food and it makes such a difference both physically and mentally. I needed this challenge!

I know it's not going to be easy, after running a half marathon in 2023 which honestly was one of the hardest things I have ever done (St Albans Half on the hottest day of year, so if you know..you know!), and when I look at the training plan it scares the hell out of me, but I am determined to do it!

I'll be running for Spread A Smile and whilst I have not directly worked with them before I know a lot of entertainers (most that I call friends) that give up their time to go into hospitals to entertain the seriously ill children and I know from talking about it, it makes such a difference.

More information on Spread A Smile can be found at https://spreadasmile.org

Our mission at Spread a Smile is to distract seriously ill children and teenagers from the monotony of long hospital stays by spreading joy and laughter.

Every year, our teams of entertainers make thousands of virtual and bedside visits, distracting children from pain and treatment, breaking the monotony of the hospital environment and creating positive memories for them, their parents and siblings. Our support also includes family events and outings, Smile TV, art workshops, painting children's radiotherapy masks and family support.

Please donate as much as you can so I can reach my goal and more importantly as the donations come in it will keep me motivated. I may even try and document my progress on TikTok which can found here.

Thanks and wish me luck...i'm going to need it!!!
