Ramesh's Story
In 2023, I took on challenges and played 24 rounds of golf in 6 days, raising £61,000 for 5 charities.
After 26 years of dedicating myself to amazing causes, I took a step back to prioritize my health with my age and diabetes.
I’ve been inspired by friends fighting cancer and felt compelled to lend a hand and now I’m back on my feet ready to help those in need.
I’m taking on not one but two challenges due to my age and health I’ve planned in some recovery time, but I’ll be walking 85 miles further than last time and participating in 10 events with 9 golf clubs joining me.
Challenge 1
Get ready for an epic challenge! I’ll be playing 18 holes of golf followed by an 18-mile walking starting at Olton golf club on the 29th March, Harborne golf club on the 5th April, Oxley Park golf club on the 11th April, Hearsall golf club on the 19th April and finally Enville golf club on the 26th April.
I’ll be joined by members of the 5 clubs at each event, where they’ll take on their own challenge and raise money for their captain’s charity.
We have around 100 members ready to take on the challenge and make a difference, giving them a sense of achievement knowing they are also helping others in need.
Challenge 2
I’ll be playing 4 rounds of golf a day for 5 consecutive days starting on the 1st June at Edgbaston Golf Club, 2nd June at Coventry Golf Club, 3rd June at Copt Heath Golf Club, 4th June at Maxstoke Park Golf Club and finally finishing at my club on the 5th June at Enville Golf Club.
Members from each club will also be taking on their own challenge by playing 4 rounds in the day at their club and will be raising money for their Captains Charity.
We are looking for around 4 members from each club to take on the challenge which will give them a sense of achievement knowing they are also helping others in need.
Total challenges
25 rounds of Golf and walking 240 miles, the distance from Birmingham to Dumfries.
All this to raise awareness and funds for the following charities:
From my target of £100,000 i will be splitting the funds to the following charities.
