Story
I’ll be taking on the full circuit of the Cheshire Ring, 97 miles in one continuous push to raise funds and awareness for Cheshire Search and Rescue. The team is made up entirely of volunteers who give up their time, day and night, in all conditions, to help find vulnerable missing people and support the emergency services across the county. Every callout relies on specialist equipment, training, and vehicle maintenance — all funded through donations — so this challenge is my way of giving something back to a team that gives so much to others.
The route passes through areas well-known to both the team and me, making it a fitting and meaningful challenge as it takes place within and around the county we serve. Walking the entire ring in one go will test endurance, resilience, and mindset — long miles, tired legs, and pushing on when stopping would be easier. In many ways, that reflects what search and rescue is about: persistence, teamwork, and commitment when it matters most.
