Due to the increase of our overheads and the government not paying our true hourly rate for their “free” funded hours for 3 and 4 year olds we are finding it difficult to provide those "wow" activities. These are hands on experiences and activities that go beyond our normal daily activities but have a huge impact on children’s learning and development. They’re activities that the children will have life long memories of such as a 2 week living eggs experience or having visitors come into the setting bringing things like reptiles and mini beasts with them. With the fundraising money we can provide extra activities such as these to add to the enjoyment of our pre-school.

Staff, committee members and parents/carers are walking a 14 mile round trip from Eastleigh to Winchester and back again. On the return walk we are climbing St Catherine's Hill to meet families for a teddy bear picnic. We are carrying Colin, the giant Pre-school bear who will be having his photo taken along the walk to make an adventure story for the children to enjoy. Knowing we are raising money for such a worthy cause will keep us plodding along.
