Cricket for Hope - For Feed Up Warm Up.

Dave Hoskins is raising money for feed up warm up
In memory of Lt Col J Hoskins MBE RA

Charity Celebrity Cricket Match · 2 August 2026

Feed Up Warm Up is a North Hertfordshire based charity supporting those who are homeless and those at risk of homelessness. We operate 2 weekly drop in centres in Hitchin and Stevenage where anybody is welcome to come and spend the evening with us. We offer live music, counselling services, a hot meal, free haircuts, food parcels, addiction advice and a warm welcoming smile and a chat. We support on average 100 guests a week between both drop in services. We also have an outreach team who respond to local referrals from other charities and agencies. During the pandemic we have reached out to local struggling families who have been directly impacted by the pandemic by delivering weekly food parcels and other support services. Through this particular service we have made up and delivered over 2600 food parcels which equates to 11,000 individuals since April 2020. We are funded purely by donations from kind members of the public and local businesses. Our belief is that all people should be treated with dignity, respect, kindness, equality and included in the local community.

Story

On the 2nd of August 2026 The Lt Col J Hoskins MBE RA Invitational XI will be playing against The Monty Panesar Invitational XI in a friendly 40 over game supported by a number of Celebrities and Sporting legends.

Across our previous 5 events we have raised £82,500. It would be shame for us to miss out on our Century!

We will be hosted by the incredible Luton Town and Indians Cricket club who have been instrumental in the success of our games in 2019 and 2025.

Our History

In 2012 St John Fisher CC and St Albans CC got together to hold the first annual Phil Milton Memorial game to honour the great man's legacy through cricket, fun and social.

At the 2014 AGM David Hoskins came up with the idea of doing a fundraiser for the Hospice that cared for Phil and the plan to raise money for the peace hospice was born.

Since 2015 senior members of St John Fishers have been involved with 4 charity matches raising a total of £47,500 so far. We have supported The Peace Hospice, Cricket Without Boundaries, Children with Cancer UK and Crimebeat (Bedfordshire)

Our 5th game In 2025 we had our largest event to date, raising £35k for CALM, chosen in memory of a close friend and team mate who lost his life in 2021.

Our 6th and "Final..." game is in memory of an Unofficial Social member of our club. Dave's father Lt Col John Hoskins MBE RA passed away on the eve of our game in 2025. He was a staunch supporter of everyone of our previous games and a larger than life attendee at the events. A number of us were also lucky enough to spend time with him socially and he was always a real pleasure to talk to.
