*Why Bath Mencap?*

I have chosen to run for Bath Mencap Society. Operating locally since 1964, they support people with learning disabilities, their families, and their carers across Bath and North East Somerset.

​Many people do not realise that Bath Mencap is entirely independent. They are affiliated with, but receive absolutely no financial support from, National Mencap. Because they receive no statutory funding, they rely completely on local fundraising to keep their doors open.

*​The Impact of Your Donation*

Bath Mencap's core goal is to reduce social isolation and ensure everyone with a learning disability has the same social and leisure opportunities as their peers. Helping me reach my £500 target will directly fund their local services, which are split into two main areas:

​Junior Activities:

​Junior Gateway Club: Providing supervised sports, arts, and cinema trips for children under 16, allowing them to socialise, have fun, and build confidence outside of school.

​Adult Activities:

​Senior Gateway Club: A weekly social evening that has been running since the 1970s. It provides a safe, consistent space for adults to build and maintain lifelong friendships.

​By donating, you are not just supporting my run. You are funding over 60 years of community inclusion, friendship, and support for people right here in Bath.
