The "Crocs" walk for Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind

Chris Cowcher is raising money for Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind

Edale Skyline Walk · 4 July 2026

Since 1966, we’ve supported mental health across Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. For our 60th, the 60 for 60 campaign aims to raise £60K with 60 fundraisers. Every mind counts, every penny matters—help us continue this vital work.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We’re a group of lads who first met playing six‑a‑side football on Wednesday nights in Stratford upon Avon. The group first came together in those strange stop‑start months between lockdowns in 2021, and what began as a weekly run‑out has grown into something much more meaningful. Our youngest player is in their 20s, and the oldest are in their 40s - different ages, different pressures, but the same need for connection, fitness (kind of), laughter, and a place to switch off from the demands of everyday life.

Over time, the "Crocs" group has become more than football. It’s been a space where we’ve supported each other quietly, honestly, and without judgement. Not everyone has that. And that’s why, as we take on the Edale Skyline (a 24 mile loop in the Peak District) on 4 July, we’ve decided to raise some money for South Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind - because mental health matters at every age.

Across the UK, men under 60 face significant mental‑health challenges, with suicide remaining one of the leading causes of death for men in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. These numbers are a stark reminder of why talking openly, checking in on each other, and accessing support when we need it is so important.

We’re lucky to have our Wednesday‑night football group. But for those who don’t have a group like ours, charities like Mind provide a lifeline.

By supporting our walk, you’ll be helping our local Mind reach people who are struggling, isolated, or overwhelmed - people who need someone in their corner. Any donation, big or small, will go a long way in helping others get the support they deserve.

Thank you for standing with us, and for helping us make a difference.
