Story
On Friday 22nd May we will be joining together to raise as much money as possible for Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA)
In September we welcomed a pupil who some of you may know, Maisie.
Maisie, who always has a smile on her face, has been battling JIA since December 2023.
Maisie suddenly started experiencing some debilitating symptoms such as not being able to weight bare or stand for months or weeks. Maisie underwent several tests to get to the cause of these symptoms.
This was a particularly difficult time for her and her family.
In April 2024, after seeing a specialist, Maisie finally received the diagnosis of JIA. On her worse days Maisie could not stand at all, which was very difficult for such an active young girl. After finally receiving the diagnosis and some intense hospital treatment Maisie gradually started to walk again. Maisie's pain and inflammation is now managed through weekly injections and regular hospital check ups. Looking at Maisie now, you wouldn't even know she has JIA. Her medication and regular check ups allow her to keep active and to be the smiley, happy little girl she is today.
Along with her family we are very proud of Maisie, she has come so far.
Therefore, please join us on Friday 22nd May to not only raise awareness of this cause but also in trying to raise as much money as possible for JIA.
Team Crowmoor are all welcome to come into school on Friday 22nd May in non-uniform, wearing purple if possible for #WearPurpleForJIA 💜
We also want to try and raise as much money as possible. Please support this cause where you can💜
