Story

150 WAYS TO MAKE A BIG IMPACT:

As our colleagues and many of our customers are already aware, at BHSF, we are this year celebrating 150 years of making a difference to the lives of working people across the West Midlands and beyond. We were founded in 1873 by the surgeon, Joseph Sampson Gamgee, as The Birmingham Hospital Saturday Fund, set up to help Birmingham hospitals and medical charities. Today of course, we are a national health and wellbeing provider, helping employers to keep their teams physically, mentally, and financially healthy.

BHSF has lots planned throughout 2023, to mark our special anniversary, but one initiative that we're especially thrilled to be supporting is ‘The Big 150 Pledge’, a CSR drive launched to champion and support causes that mean something to each individual within the BHSF business, whilst also creating a wider fundraising legacy to mark our 150th year.

So, what are we up to? The Customer Success Team will be supporting Change Into Action, helping rough sleepers on the streets of Birmingham.

Change into Action is an alternative giving scheme supporting specialist charities and street teams working to change the circumstances of rough sleepers. It is a fantastic partnership between Birmingham City Council, the Mayor of the West Midlands, the West Midlands Combined Authority and a number of other midlands charities, including some of our own charity partners and clients, such as Trident Group. St Basils and SIFA Fireside

Over the coming weeks, we will be actively heading out with the street teams to see how the scheme can make a difference. Our vision is to raise enough money to fund 150 ‘kettle and duvet/ bedding sets’ that we know will make a real difference to 150 individuals.

We would appreciate any support you can give to help us raise funds that can make our 150 charity vision a reality.

We kick off on the 31st March meeting at 2am in Birmingham City Centre. Photos and videos to follow.

Thank you,

Jo, Rach, Judith, Helena, Kayleigh, Lisa, Kharis Sharon and Vicky.
