Bath Half 2025 · 16 March 2025 ·

Cure Usher raises funds for research into finding a cure for Usher syndrome, the leading cause of genetically inherited combined hearing and sight loss worldwide.

Story

John, Beth, Jake, Riley & Will are running the Bath Half 2025 (16th March), raising funds for CUREUsher.

This is a charity very close to our hearts because our beautiful Ottilie (5) and gorgeous Gus (1) were both born deaf and subsequently diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Usher Syndrome in the summer of 2024.

As well as being born deaf, as the disease progresses, they will develop Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) leading to partial or total blindness. Sometimes balance can also be effected.

Every individual with Usher Syndrome is affected differently but our Ottie and Gus are likely to start losing vision in their early teens - unless progress is made to find a cure.

CureUsher raises funds for research into a cure or treatment for Usher Syndrome as well as supporting those living with Usher Syndrome.

We are running for Ottilie, Gus and everyone else living with Usher Syndrome.

Every donation counts and will make a genuine difference to so many people and their families. Please help and join us by donating generously and spreading awareness of Usher Syndrome.

There is no cure, until we find one…
