CXO Portals charity of the year for 2025 is: The People's Animal Welfare Society.

We have chosen this charity for several reasons:

1. A lot of the team care very deeply for our pets and it is a charity that is meaningful to us.

2. They offer an innovative service ensuring that cats and dogs with specialised issues can find their forever home, which is sadly something not all the bigger organisations do.

3. The charity is fairly new and would really benefit from the money. Their monthly operating costs are currently around £2000 (all their accounts are published publicly) and it would be incredible if we could raise enough to fund a whole month for them! We will be able to point to real, physical change that we have directly supported through our fundraising.

4. The organisation fits our ethics and values. They work incredibly hard, have robust fostering and adoption processes, and work with local organisations to ensure the best processes are followed for the animals, local communities, and those adopting/fostering.

5. They are completely not for profit and are a registered charity.
