Story
Our teammate and Old Redcliffians legend, Ellis Joseph, has been diagnosed with leukaemia and he needs our support!
We pride ourselves in our brotherhood at Old Reds so on Saturday 29th, we are cycling 117 miles (188km) to raise vital funds for the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT).
We need to find someone with a genetic match for a transplant to save Ellis' life. The more people we can sign up to the stem cell register, the greater the chance of find a match for Ellis.
ACLT's work focuses on three pillars, increasing the number of potential lifesavers on the stem cell (bone marrow), blood and organ donor registers; raising awareness on the importance of becoming a donor; and providing advice and support to ACLT service used (patients and their families).
ALL funds raised will be used to continue ACLT's great work and help us find a match for Ellis. ACLT rely on the generosity of individual financial donors, so we need your support!
On average, it costs ACLT approximately £25 to recruit each person to either one of the registries (stem cell, blood, or organ). Therefore, all contributions mean the world to us, no matter how big or small, and they will make a SIGNIFICANT difference! Thank you for your support in advance.
More details on the cycle will be released in due course; however, we'll be starting at Scotland Lane on the Saturday before crossing the bridge into Wales and returning to Scotland Lane on Sunday. Follow the journey on the club's socials - @OldRedcliffians.
