On April 8th, George Smith and I start our journey from the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and will cycle 1,430 Kilometres to Saint Peter's Square in the Vatican City, Rome.

We're talking mental health. We provide mental health training, resources and consultancy with a focus on children and young people. We work with young people, parents and carers, schools, colleges, universities and employers.

Story

George Harcourt was the most generous, caring, and unique person we knew. In a world dominated by self-interest, he distinguished himself by consistently putting the happiness and desires of others above his own. George brought laughter to any situation, saw the positive in everyone, and selflessly provided his time to all who wanted it. He was endearing to anyone he met, cherished by all those who knew him, and truly the best son, brother, and friend.

On January 5th, 2024, at the age of 22, his struggles with mental health became too much to bear and he ended his life. While his passing has been an unimaginable challenge for his family and an agonising loss for the hundreds of lives he touched, we take solace in our shared love of George and the wealth of memories that he leaves behind. In our grief and determination to prevent this tragedy occurring to others, we are cycling from the Eiffel Tower in Paris to Saint Peter’s Square in the Vatican City, Rome, to raise money for The Charlie Waller Trust.

The Charlie Waller Trust aims to improve young people’s understanding of their mental health and well-being and to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to look out for themselves, their friends, and those around them. Through consultancy, training, and the provision of educational and practical resources, they offer a vital service to young persons and those in their immediate vicinity. We hope that donations to such a vital cause can aid The Charlie Waller Trust in reaching as many vulnerable individuals as possible and raise awareness of the devastating effects of neglecting our mental health.
