Story
Drs Frankie Postles and Nick Monioudis are new to Salisbury District Hospital and the beautiful county of Wiltshire in which it resides.
Getting to grips with the layout of a hospital's many wards often poses a challenge.
Salisbury Hospital is peppered with wards with names such as Farley, Amesbury and Pitton to name but a few. It took a humbling amount to time to realise that the hospital's 20 wards are all named after local(ish) villages and areas of interest.
In the depths of a night shift together, the question arose in the gloom: 'how far would it be to cycle between them all in a day?' The answer is around 150kms.
This one day adventure will be undertaken in aid of the hospital's wonderful charity arm 'Stars Appeal'. Every day, work funded by the charity helps hundreds of patients, their families and the NHS staff that care for them by funding ongoing projects and services such the latest diagnostic and treatment equipment and enhancements to the hospital environment.
