A Year For ELF

ELF supports patients & families affected by blood cancer in Devon. We provide a range of services including transport to & from appointments, counselling, financial grants & overnight accommodation. We also fund specialist equipment & training courses to the RD&E hospital's Haematology Centre.

Story

So, every year I do cycling events and solo challenges for a charity throughout the year, pushing myself to the limit and then extending that limit.

Last year I did Lands End to John O groats for The Bike Network, and other events I have done include a solo everesting, The Devon boundary and South west coast to coast and other organised Sportives and races.

In 2021, I started a new job at Castle grove Care home, and heard about the passing of Ray Kenny, Mrs Kenny's late husband and owner of Castle grove and also a fellow chef. So from that moment I knew that Exeter Leukaemia Fund, who Mrs Kenny helps support, would be the charity of choice for 2023.

Its going to be a big year starting with the first challenge in February. I will be using this page and updating it with fundraising goals and event updates etc.

So who are ELF?

Exeter Leukaemia Fund is a small Devon charity providing a range of support services for blood cancer patients and their families treated at the RD&E Hospital. ELF built the existing Haematology Centre in 2003 and added a critical-care unit to the ward in 2017. Today, as well as still directly supporting the ward, our services for blood cancer patients include transport, counselling, financial support grants & legal advice, accommodation and therapy treatments. Your support will help us to make a real difference.

So this is the start.... Lets have a good year and smash some goals and raise some vital funds for a great charity that I work connections with but also in a way a personal connection, not cancer related but defiantly related via blood disorder.

Just want to say a huge thanks to the brands supporting me throughout this year as well:

Also throughout these events and challenges, if anyone would like to come along to support, help fundraise or just be part of the event, then please get in touch.
