Cygnet Health Care Cavell Walk 2025 · 2 May 2025

Cavell is the charity supporting UK nurses, midwives, and nursing associates, working and retired, when they’re suffering personal or financial hardship often due to illness, disability, older age, domestic abuse and the ongoing cost of living crisis.

Story

On Friday 02 May 2025, the Nursing Directorate, along with other members of Cygnet, we will be spending the day walking across the beautiful Monsal Trail, Peak District.

Cygnet provides health and social care services for young people and adults with mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, eating disorders, autism and learning disabilities within the UK.

David Wilmott, Group Director of Nursing, "Here at Cygnet we are really excited to undertake the Monsal Trail, Peak District, walk to raise money for the Cavell Trust, this is a fantastic organisation who supports nurses and support workers who may be experiencing financial difficulties.

I hope you are able to offer a donation to support this work. If anyone would like to join us on the walk then you would be really welcome and please contact David Wilmott who will be pleased to hear from you.

Cygnet have been extremely generous and given a donation to start the fundraising. In some work by the Cavell Trust it has been identified that nurses can often be the main income within a family and have at times needed to use food banks."

Cavell are here for UK Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates, whether working or retired, with money and support when they are living through personal or financial hardship, often because of illness, domestic abuse, disability, working poverty and older age.

Put simply, we’re ‘Here for Nurses’.
