Desmoid-type fibromatosis (DF) is a rare type of soft tissue tumour sometimes it is called aggressive fibromatosis or a desmoid tumour. In every million people about 5-6 are diagnosed every year with DF. The tumours are formed from cells in the body known as fibroblasts and these cells are found in the connective tissue of our body, the tissue that supports, protects and gives structure to other tissue and organs.

In June 2023, Agne finally received a diagnosis after months of frustrating and inconclusive doctor's visits. The rarity of her condition meant a long wait for answers, and an equally long wait for a treatment plan. Securing her medication in the UK was a struggle due to it not being readily available in the UK. Agne lives with constant pain and discomfort, making everyday tasks a significant challenge. I'm determined to raise money for a charity that provides vital support to people like Agne. This run is just the first step in my commitment to making a difference.
