Three Peak Challenge · 18 July 2025

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

On July 18th, we are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - all within 24 hours - to raise money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). The Three Peaks are the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales and the challenge is to climb each of these three peaks – one after the other!

This is more than just a challenge for us.

September will mark 10 years since we lost our best friend Daniel Knapp to his battle with mental health. We continue to be incredibly grateful for the impact he had on our lives and 10 years on, we wanted to do something meaningful to honour his memory and support others who are struggling.

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is an incredible charity dedicated to preventing suicide - the leading cause of death for men under 45 in the UK. CALM is run by brilliant people providing tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.

Every day in the UK we lose 18 people to suicide. In 2023 (the most recent available data published) the overall suicide rate was 11.2 per 100,000**, which is an increase on the previous year. Talking is good for your mental health but starting a conversation isn't always easy. For anyone struggling with the idea of talking about their mental health, or talking to someone about their mental health, we encourage you to take a look at this great guide from the Mental Health Foundation.

We know it's short notice, but every donation, no matter how small, makes a huge difference. Your support will keep us going through the blisters, exhaustion, high levels of 'unfitness' and more importantly, it will help CALM continue their vital work offering life changing services, supporting those in crisis and helping to break the stigma around mental health. £12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.

Please donate if you can, and help us spread the word.

Together, we can honour Dan's memory and make sure no one has to face mental health battles alone.

Thank you!

Callum, Alex, Tom, and Harry
