D2 Indoor Cycle Challenge in support of akt

Lee Walton is raising money for akt - the albert kennedy trust

D2 Indoor Cycle Challenge · 4 July 2025

Coming out, or being outed as LGBTQ+ can lead to young people being made homeless. This is the reality for 77% of the young people akt supports. We proudly offer safe homes and better futures for LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25.

Story

On the 4th July, some of the D2 staff will be taking part in a challenge to cycle two of the proposed Northern Powerhouse routes totaling 360km within 9 hours, on two indoor cycle trainers setup in the D2 Manchester Office.

The D2 staff will cycle the main route between Liverpool, Hull and Newcastle, with the aim to raise money for this year's D2 sponsored charity akt.

Please come and cheer the D2 Staff on in this endeavour and show your support by donating to akt!

About akt

Lots of young people come out as LGBTQ+ to their families and are embraced and supported.

But that’s not always the case. Coming out, or being outed as LGBTQ+ can lead to young people being made homeless. This is the reality for 77% of the young people akt supports.
