Support Dad’s & Shez’s legacy

Nasima Rahman is raising money for Molesey Islamic Cultural Centre
By permission of Allah we bought a suitable property however we require your help to raise enough money to help us with our debts. For 20 years the Muslim community have been renting halls simply to be able to pray in congregation whether that be for Friday prayers or Tarawih during Ramadan.

Story

Charity is not just an act of kindness—it is a means of healing, a way to seek blessings, and a path to honoring those we love. In these incredibly difficult times, I want to raise money for Molesey Islamic Cultural Centre (MICC) our local mosque in the names of my Dad and my brother, Shez, to support their legacy of service.

Life can change in an instant. My family knows this all too well.

September 2013, at the age of 17, Shez was involved in a tragic accident that left him with life changing disabilities. Before the accident, he was a pillar of our community—full of life and energy, always striving to make a difference and loved by so many. He’s someone who people looked up to and simply being there to support those in need. He worked very hard for the things he loved and played his part in supporting the local mosque and community, dedicating time to volunteering, helping at appeals and organising events. But in a single moment, everything changed. Today, Shez remains in a minimal conscious state, unable to speak, move, or continue with a normal life. We want to ensure that his spirit of giving continues.

Fast forward, February 2025. My dad suffered a major stroke and ended up in intensive care. He was starting to show signs of neurological awareness but 2 weeks later, he went into cardiac arrest. Since this, his neurological awareness has reduced. It is still early days and we remain hopeful for his recovery and consciousness inshaAllah, but the reality of life that we are facing is devastating with both of them in this way.

As one of the founding members of Molesey Islamic Cultural Center (MICC) - Dad is a man of service. He spent years helping to establish and grow the local mosque, ensuring it would be a place of unity for generations to come. He poured his heart into its development, serving in multiple roles including general secretary. His strength and dedication has been unwavering.

My father is not just a Dad to us - he has been a guiding light throughout our entire lives. The people we’ve become and the life lessons we have is because of him.

Beyond his work, he is a man with great knowledge, always sharing his wisdom and guidance. He is loved by everyone who knows him and has always been the life of every gathering, filling rooms with laughter, storytelling and joy, always bringing people together.

The mosque is his second home, a place where he has found purpose and fulfilment, but now, as he lies in a hospital bed, unable to speak or move, we want to carry forward the work he dedicated his time to in the best way we know how.

As a family, this has been an incredibly painful and overwhelming time. For over a decade, we have carried the weight of Shez’s condition, learning to live with the reality that the Shez we once knew would never be the same. And now, we are facing a similar heartbreak all over again. Watching two strong men in our family unable to communicate and be completely dependent on care is something we never imagined we would go through. This is the kinda stuff hear about in the movies but never in a million years think it will be for you.

But no one is feeling this pain more than my mum. She has gone from caring for Shez every single day to now sitting at my dad’s bedside, hoping for a miracle. She is not only watching her son live in this condition but now her husband too. No mother and wife should have to go through this, and yet she carries this unimaginable burden with so much strength and patience without questioning anything. May Allah make it easy on her.

Any donation, no matter how small will make a difference.

May Allah accept this charity on their behalf, grant them full shif’a , and reward them for all the good they have done.
