Story

We did it! 🥵🚴🥾🛶🍻

10 days ago, we were nervously watching the countdown and wondering if our knees would survive. 9.5 hours of cycling, hiking, kayaking, swearing, laughing, and deeply regretting our life choices later… we crossed the finish line. Just. About. Alive.

And we smashed our fundraising target thanks to YOU—our magnificent, generous, slightly unhinged supporters. We honestly couldn’t have done it without you.

Your donations powered us up the hills, through the blisters, past the cramping, and directly into the arms of several very large post-race drinks. 🍻

You supported a cause that really matters—Action Medical Research, who fund game-changing work for sick and vulnerable babies and children. That was the “why” behind the madness, and you helped us turn it into something real. 💙

So from all of us at Team Dads & Lads:

Thank you.

For the donations.

For the pep talks.

For tolerating our endless posts and increasingly sweaty selfies.

Now please excuse us while we ice our knees, retire our lycra, and try to remember how to walk like normal people again.

If you still want to donate (because hey, miracles do happen)*

I'm part of a team of dads and lads, taking on Race the Sun Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) for children's charity Action Medical Research.

In June I will be setting off at sunrise to bike, hike and paddle around a challenging course in a race against the sun.

I'm racing in aid of children's charity, Action Medical Research. They have spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people.

By supporting our team you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.

Thank you so much for your support.
