Story
I am writing to share my reasons for fundraising for a charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by dementia—a cause that is deeply personal to me. Over the past few years, I have witnessed the devastating impact of this disease on both friends and family, which has ignited my passion to contribute to this important cause.
A dear friend has been living with dementia for some time now. I have seen firsthand the toll it takes on his daily life—from confusion and memory loss to difficulties in communication and changes in mood. Simple tasks that we often take for granted have become monumental challenges for him. This condition not only affects those diagnosed but also reshapes the daily realities of their loved ones.
Additionally, a family member is also battling dementia. Watching him struggle with recognition of familiar faces and places has been heart-wrenching. The emotional strain on the family is palpable. It brings feelings of helplessness and frustration, and we constantly grapple with how to provide the best care and support while dealing with our own grief over the changes we see.
Dementia doesn't just impact the individual. It takes a profound emotional and financial toll on family members and friends who often become caregivers. There’s a unique strain on relationships, as those of us supporting them navigate feelings of sadness and loss, all while attempting to maintain our own well-being. Families find themselves in a constant state of adaptation, often sacrificing personal time and resources to ensure that their loved ones receive the care they need.
Through fundraising efforts, I hope to gather resources that will help families like those and support research aimed at better understanding dementia and ultimately finding a cure.
I appreciate your consideration and hope you will join me in this endeavour to support all those affected by dementia.
Warm regards,

So after reading all that He's going to be doing some challenges for his 80th birthday. The old fart has decided to do a Wing walk, Parachute jump and Abseil. Photos will be shared.
Just wish him luck if nothing else.
