Dains Payroll Team's 3 Million Step Challenge for National Payroll Week 2025

Dains Group is raising money for Money and Mental Health Policy Institute
Money and Mental Health is an independent charity set up by Martin Lewis. We are committed to breaking the link between financial difficulty and mental health problems. We are experience-led and work in partnership with both those providing services and those using them to find what really works.

Story

This tax month (6th August – 5th September), which includes National Payroll Week, the Dains Payroll Team is lacing up and stepping out with a big goal: to walk 3 million steps as a regional team!

Why 3 million? It’s not just a random number we pulled out of a spreadsheet—it represents the average annual pay bill of a small to medium-sized business, the kind of clients we proudly support every day.

National Payroll Week is all about celebrating the unsung heroes of payroll (yes, we exist!), but we wanted to take it one step further (pun absolutely intended) by raising money for a brilliant cause: The Money and Mental Health Policy Institute.

Founded by Martin Lewis, this charity is on a mission to break the vicious cycle between financial struggles and mental health challenges. They do this through powerful research, policy work, and by listening to real people with real experiences. Their goal? To make sure no one is held back by money worries and mental health issues.

So, while we’re counting steps, we’d love it if you could help us count donations too. Every pound you give helps fund life-changing work—and gives us a little extra motivation to keep moving!

Thank you for your support—whether you donate, share, or just cheer us on, you're helping us walk towards a better future.
