Story
Hello friends and family,
Earlier this year, we experienced an unimaginable loss. A best friend to many of us, and sister in every sense, Selina Violet Douglas-Home tragically took her own life.
Even if you didn’t know Selina personally, you likely heard about her, the beautiful blonde dutch girl with the biggest smile, the cheekiest laugh, and a heart that radiated warmth. She was a ray of sunshine in all our lives, and the absence of her light has been felt deeply, every single day since.
Selina battled with her mental health, a struggle many of us are familiar with. It’s a silent fight that so often hides behind bright eyes and brave faces.
In honour of Selina & in support of my sister Flora I have decided to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London this year. We’ll be running to raise funds for Mind (Hammersmith branch), a charity that offers vital support for mental health.
Most of you know I have not run since 2023 and i’m unsure Flora has ever made it past our front gate but we are committed to doing it in memory of a wonderful woman & a beautiful friend.
The goal is to raise £2500 each and end up with a grand total of £5000. Any support, big or small, would mean the world. Whether you’re able to donate, share this message, or just send some encouragement, we would be so grateful.
Let’s keep Selina’s spirit alive by helping others who might be silently struggling. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any support you’re able to give.
