Tiratanaloka houses a community of 7 members of the Triratna Buddhist Community living together, running retreats and supporting the deepening of Buddhist practice within our community. As the Tiratanaloka Ordination team we offer retreats to help women train for ordination into the Triratna Buddhist Order. This training has two aspects: getting to know and understand the Order, which is based on Sangharakshita’s vision, and deepening one’s practice to the point at which it becomes effective.

Bodhamayi was ordained in 2017 and Michelle is in the process of training for Ordination. Buddhism and the ordination training process has been a lifechanging experience and they both want to help contribute to generations of future women who decide to take this important step in their Buddhist practice. They are going beyond selfhood by posting a picture of themselves in full lycra on the internet, and in June will take part in the London to Brighton bike ride on their tandem - crawling up hills at an average of 3mph and tanking back down the other side at up to 40mph.
