RNID is a charity that is incredibly close to my heart, for many reasons. My whole family is hard of hearing and has hearing loss to some degree, and this includes me. Also, having what I’d call a fair bit of life experience, I can tell you that no one really prepares you for the challenges that arise outside of your home and safe space, when facing hearing loss. This is where RNID has a huge role to play, but it is only through the support of others that they can continue their amazing and life-changing work.

RNID is an incredible charity that supports over 18 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss, or tinnitus. I am a true advocate of the work they do, because I feel so connected in the fight for accessible healthcare and change. From hearing loss research, to supporting the improvement in development for hearing aids and cochlear implants, they have made massive strides since 2000, and individuals like me could not be more grateful.

For me, this is bigger than just the London Marathon - it’s about showing that you can break boundaries and social norms, raise awareness of RNID and hearing loss, and all whilst doing something that is truly close to your heart.
