On Sunday 8th September we will be running 13.1 miles in the great north run for mesothelioma uk, my first time running the Newcastle to shields route.

At the end of 2021 just after Christmas we were given the devastating news that my grandad had mesothelioma lung cancer. We were told there is no cure. After 2 years of fighting, chemo and radiotherapy Grandad sadly lost his battle and fell asleep in April last year. We want to give something back to the incredible team of mesothelioma nurses and consultants who have helped, supported us throughout the diagnosis and the treatment Grandad received and to Readley asbestos and mesothelioma support who continue to support our family though our bereavement. Any donation no matter how small will help to look into research for this devastating cancer, stop asbestos being used in buildings and support the sufferers and their families. Even if you only give a little I will still be giving it my all to make my grandad proud as I know he will be watching over me.
