Story
On Friday the 25th of July 2025, a troupe of Darwen natives will attempt to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of raising funds for Music Minds Matter.
The UK-based charity is dedicated to supporting the mental health of everyone working in the music industry. Established by Help Musicians in 2017, it offers a free, confidential 24/7 helpline—0808 802 8008—connecting individuals to trained counsellors for immediate support. Beyond the helpline, the charity provides online self-care sessions, peer support groups, and resources tailored to the unique challenges faced by musicians and industry professionals. Their mission is to place mental wellbeing at the heart of the music industry, ensuring that those who create and support music have access to the help they need.
The challenge, for those unaware, is to summit Pen-Y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside - the biggest peaks in the Yorkshire National Park - in under 12 hours, tackling 5,200ft of ascent and more than 24 miles of rough terrain on foot.
Please help us to reach our target of raising £500 to help fund the vital work the charity carries out.
