Story
Oh hiiiiiiii, thanks for dropping by!
We’re Dale, Hannah, and Graham aka Born to Run This Way😆and on Sunday 1st March 2026, we’ll be taking on our very first half marathon. Eeeeeep!
Nervous? Definitely. Excited? Absolutely. But most importantly, we’re running to raise awareness and funds for The Sussex Beacon-an incredible Brighton based charity that champions the wellbeing and independence of people living with HIV.
Our inspiration? The one and only Olly Alexander, who announced he’s joining #TeamBeacon too: https://www.scenemag.co.uk/olly-alexander-joins-team-beacon-to-run-brighton-half-marathon/ so if you ever read this Olly, thank youuuuuuu! <3
The Sussex Beacon receives less than a third of its funding from statutory sources, which means fundraising efforts like this are absolutely essential. That’s why every runner in the 35th Brighton Half Marathon is helping power their life-changing work across Sussex.
One of their standout services is the Sunflower Clinic, run in partnership with the Lawson Unit. It offers holistic support to new parents living with HIV, including free formula milk (up to £250 for a 6-month supply) and medical-grade breast pumps (around £47/month).
Since this support isn’t available through the NHS, The Sussex Beacon fills a critical gap for families who need it most.
Our goal is to raise £250 which could fund six months of formula milk for one baby. Every donation helps support a mother or breastfeeding parent living with HIV-and we’re determined to smash that target and go even further.🥹🤞🏻
