In late June 2023 we received the news we had been expecting for a few months. Mum had been diagnosed with Mixed Dementia ( Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia ). Although the diagnosis wasn’t a surprise, it was still a shock.

I have decided to complete this challenge for the Alzheimer’s Society to assist in the amazing work they do. Mum and Dad were an integral part of my 666 mile ride in 2019 for The Christie Cancer Charity. A hospital for whom Mum had worked in her early catering career. It meant a lot to her that I was riding for The Christie and Mum and Dad joined as my invaluable support crew for that ride. Mum has always been my biggest supporter and has always believed in me in these crazy challenges, even when I didn’t believe in myself. This one’s for you Mum. X
