Damien Doherty is raising money for The Friends of St Luke's

Everest Base Camp Trek · 26 March 2026

The Friends of St Luke's supports the invaluable work of St Luke's Radiation Oncology Network Dublin. St Luke's Hospital, Rathgar & St Luke's Radiation Centres at Beaumont and St James's Hospitals. Our mission is to raise funds for use in the care, cure and comfort of the patients of St Luke's.

Story

I am attempting to reach Everest Base Camp in April this year for the Friends of St Luke’s Charity, which supports cancer care at the St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network in Dublin.

This is an 18-day hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and the Kala Patthar summit (5,545m) in Nepal.

This cause is close to my heart, as I have seen firsthand what the support means to people and families in Ireland through our own experiences last year.

I appreciate any support for this great cause as I strive to reach the goal of Everest Base Camp. Help us to provide the comfort and care so essential to our patients as they go through their cancer journey.

Patients receive radiotherapy at St Luke's Network three cancer centres in Dublin - St Luke's Hospital, Rathgar and St Luke's centre in Beaumont and James's Hospitals.
