Just under a year ago, my so-called friend Leroy, convinced me it would be a good idea to join him on his first attempt to go beyond the 26 miles of a marathon. So we signed up to the RatRace Castle To Castle 100 mile ultra marathon. For him it was a challenge that was 4 times further than he has run before, but for me it was a bit of a leap into the unknown and I started my training building up to my first ever 5km park run on 31st August 2024.

Since then as a lot of you will know, we have been steadily building up our training and finally the time has come - we will be standing at the start line at Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland at 7am on 19th July and heading off to Edinburgh Castle over the following two days.

Well we can’t miss out on the opportunity to share this exciting adventure with you all and also try to raise a few pounds for an amazing charity Children with Cancer UK.
