Story
Just 4 weeks to go until the Hastings Half Marathon!
The headwinds are picking up along the seafront, the rain is relentless, and most training sessions end with me looking like a drenched rat. Still, despite the adversity (and increasingly soggy socks), preparation is going well!
In my mind, it’s all very Rocky — a triumphant montage of grit and determination. According to Magda, though, this is clearly a midlife crisis and a thinly veiled attempt to rediscover the faint outline of a six-pack under the layers of autumn insulation. She may have a point.
But the real reason I’m doing this is far more important.
I’m running to raise funds for Conquest Hospital, who have been absolutely brilliant in looking after both of my parents over the past two years. The care, compassion, and professionalism shown by the staff has meant the world to our family.
Every penny raised will go towards purchasing vital new equipment to help improve diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care at the hospital. Your donation isn’t just money — it’s a real and lasting contribution to the future of healthcare in our community.
I honestly can’t thank the team at Conquest enough for everything they’ve done for my mum and dad. So if you’re able to support this cause, even a small amount would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you so much!
Dan
