Dan Brownhill is raising money for The Ollie And Amelia Carroll Foundation

National Three Peak Challenge · 24 July 2026

The object of the CIO is the relief of children suffering from Battens Disease variant CLN2, an ultra-rare genetic neurological disease affecting children, in particular but not exclusively by providing grants and funding for treatment of and research into Battens Disease variant CLN2 to benefit the health and improve the lives of affected children.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am proud to support "The Ollie And Amelia Carroll Foundation," a remarkable local charity dedicated to raising awareness and finding a cure for CNL2 Batten disease. This rare, incurable, and fatal condition has profoundly impacted the lives of two young siblings, who were diagnosed at just four and two years old. The heartbreaking reality is that Batten disease carries a life expectancy of only six to twelve years.

In light of this urgent need, the parents of these brave children have committed themselves to advocacy efforts, tirelessly working to shine a light on this devastating illness. Their hope is not only to raise awareness but also to inspire others to join in the fight against Batten disease. Together, we can make a difference.

I am participating in the National Three Peak Challenge on 24 July 2026, aiming to raise £1,500 for this vital cause. I invite you to join our army of supporters as we strive for a future where no family has to endure the pain of losing a child to this disease. Your generous contributions will help propel research efforts and bring us closer to finding a cure.
