On May 25th 2025, Georgia and I will be running the Edinburgh Marathon for Weston Hospicecare in memory of my Uncle Adrian.

Adrian passed away on 7th June 2024, aged 44, after losing his three-year battle with Bowel Cancer. Adrian was a kind, gentle, thoughtful, loving and hilarious man. The loss of my grandparents' son, my mother’s brother and mine and my sister’s uncle has been extremely difficult to accept and live with.

Adrian spent the last two weeks of his life at Weston Hospice and was looked after incredibly well by the wonderful team. The staff constantly went above and beyond to ensure that Adrian received exceptional end-of-life care. They not only care for the patients but also provide outstanding and much-needed support for the families too. We as a family were and will always be extremely grateful for looking after Adrian so well & caring for us all until the very end.

Weston Hospicecare relies heavily on public donations to provide such brilliant care for people in these devastating circumstances and I want to show my gratitude by raising as much money as I can for their hard work and dedication. With only 20% of their funding coming from the NHS, the Hospice has to raise £5.5 million each year to fund their care - something that's only made possible by the community.

My family, the Hospice and I would be extremely grateful to anyone who feels they can donate to my cause and help me reach and exceed (hopefully!) my target of £1,000.

G and I, and hopefully some friends too, will also be aiming to complete the Three Peaks Challenge within the first few weeks after the marathon weekend.

Uncle Adrian, I miss you so much and hope I do you proud x
