Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Running a marathon has been something that myself and my wife Leanne have always wanted to do, so next year, we’re both running the 2026 Brighton Marathon together.
Leanne is doing it for Cancer Research, a charity very close to our hearts, and I am doing it for The Chayse West Legacy.
As some of you may know, in 2022, Chayse, who played for our football club, Alresford Colne Rangers FC was tragically killed whilst walking home by a driver who failed to stop!
The Chayse West Legacy is a charity organisation that is dedicated to supporting bereaved families.
Sadly, Chayse, a young 18 year old was killed in September 2022, in a hit and run. The family had two days with Chayse, in hospital where he was pronounced brain stem dead caused by catastrophic head injuries. They quickly began to realise that there is minimal support once your child reaches 18, in the way of financial support.
Researching, they have come to learn that there is minimal support for grieving parents full stop. Their mission is to support grieving parents going through this nightmare that has been thrust upon them. From funeral costs to other financial support.
Not all families are lucky enough to have family and friends like theirs, without whom, they would have no doubt been plunged into debt to pay for Chayse’s funeral, had the added worry of where the next pay cheque was coming from and not known what to do or who to turn to.
Whilst I appreciate that everyone is struggling at the moment, any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated.
