Story
On Saturday 8th of February, 20 students and 3 members of staff from Ampleforth College will be sleeping out in solidarity with the homeless and to raise money for St Pio’s Friary.
The Franciscans at St Pio’s provide a valuable service to the poor and hungry in Bradford, running a soup kitchen.
St Pio’s statement: Our mission is to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ by a radical life of prayer, brotherhood, and service of those most in need in Bradford. With the help of many we desire to bring the love of Christ to all those we meet and to all those we encounter in the streets and neighbourhoods of Bradford. With your help we can give practical help like food and clothing to many and a place of love and dignity to all.
This initiative is undertaken by FACE-FAW, Ampleforth’s student-led charity. The students organise a range of activities throughout the year to support a range of worthy charities and projects that they wish to support. Each year group has a fundraising focus, and Y12 have been learning about homelessness. Every penny donated for our sleepout will go directly to St Pio's Friary.
