I am running the super half series around Europe, and the Cardiff half makes up that circuit. I want to start using these runs as an opportunity to support some great charities, and I am therefore running the Cardiff Half Marathon for M7 Education. As for supporting M7 Education, I believe that access to equal education opportunities should be a right, not a privilege. I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn and grow through education, and I never had to question whether that path was available to me. At the time of going through school I never took full advantage of that privilege…making that path very difficult for myself. Despite my struggles to capitalise on this, the option was always there.

For many people and areas, that choice simply doesn’t exist, and It’s an imbalance doesn’t sit right with me. Everyone deserves the chance to shape their own future, and education is one of the most powerful tools to make that possible. M7 Education works to reduce these inequalities by creating opportunities for those who might otherwise be left behind.

Running this race is my way of supporting that mission—helping to level the playing field so that more people have the chance to access education and make their own choices about what they take from this.
