Story
In August 2024, our world changed. My five‑year‑old daughter, Martha, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes — a condition that arrived without warning and one she will now live with every single day.
Since then, Martha has shown a level of bravery no child should ever have to learn so young. Finger‑pricks, cannulas, sensors, hypos, carb counting… these have become part of her daily routine. She takes it all on with a smile that could light up a room, but the truth is: Type 1 Diabetes never takes a break. Not during school, not during playtime, not even while she sleeps.
That’s why I’m raising money for Diabetes UK.
They fund life‑changing research, provide vital support for families like ours, and fight for better care and understanding for everyone living with diabetes. Their work gives us hope — hope for better treatments, better technology, and one day, a cure.
I’m asking for your support because every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. It helps children like Martha live safer, healthier, more carefree lives. It helps parents sleep a little easier. And it brings us closer to a future where Type 1 Diabetes no longer dictates a child’s life.
If you’re able to give, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you can share this fundraiser, you’ll be helping more than you know.
For Martha — and for every family navigating this journey — thank you.
