Story
When the laughable idea of completing the Great North Run for charity was floated around work, the first mistake I made was to wander upstairs to take the p*ss.
My second mistake was that I found myself wandering back down the stairs having allowed myself to be bullied into doing it.
Not too worry I thought; it's a good way to start exercising and it'll be fun.
Exercise and I go together like chalk & cheese or Leeds Utd & success. However I have persevered and as for the fun part? Absolutely not.
I'm confident I'll make it round but it will be at a very steady pace. Think The Hare & The Tortoise. Minus the Hare. Or if the other 64,999 runners all stop off halfway round for a 5 hour sesh in the Bigg Market, I've got a realistic chance of crossing that finish line in 1st place.
Anyway, my work colleagues and I are all running to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. Our Just Giving accounts are all linked and all money raised goes directly to this worthy charity.
I know these days are tight for everyone but if you have a spare fiver or tenner you can chuck in my direction, I'll be most grateful; if only not to make me look like a Billy-Nomates.
Thanks for reading everyone and if you do end up catching any of it on the tellybox; keep an eye out - I'll be the wheezing sweaty mess towards the back of the field.
Much love x

We’re taking on the Great North Run as Team Greenland Seeds, with Dan Green, Jack Tyrell, Dan Bonser and Roger McGivern running together to raise £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan is a charity that has a strong connection with Greenland Seeds and the people within our business. Like so many families, we’ve seen first-hand the impact cancer can have, which makes supporting the work Macmillan does particularly important to all of us.
Macmillan provides vital practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer and their loved ones, helping people through what can be an incredibly difficult time. citeturn0search0turn0search7
That’s why we wanted to take on this challenge together. Every donation will help us towards our £5,000 target and, more importantly, help Macmillan continue supporting people and families affected by cancer.
Thank you for getting behind Team Greenland Seeds and helping us make a difference.
