Dan's Run/Cycle challenge for Cats Protection

Run 5km or cycle 25km every day this year
Last year I heard a story about a man named Gary McKee, who ran a marathon every day, and raised an enormous amount for charity. If he can run a marathon every day, I thought, I can at least run 5km every day. The logistics of shift work meant that on some days, my only option really was cycling, and so just before the turn of the year I set myself the challenge to either run 5km, or cycle 25km, every day of 2023.
It's been tough going at times, but also very rewarding; I ran my first half-marathon in May, took on the UK's toughest parkrun, and very recently I cycled my furthest ever distance in one day - 107km. Now, with a little less than 100 days of my challenge to go, I'd really like to do some good by raising money for charities that are close to my heart.
I always had cats growing up and now, with a family of my own, we have recently rehomed a rescue cat called Poppy after sadly losing our dear cat Cookie (also a rescue cat) a few months ago at the grand old age of 17. I would love to be able to help more cats in need of a loving home so I am proud to be raising money for Cats Protection, the UK's leading feline welfare charity.
