Dan's Run/Cycle challenge for The Wildlife Trusts

Run 5km or cycle 25km every day this year
Last year I heard a story about a man named Gary McKee, who ran a marathon every day, and raised an enormous amount for charity. If he can run a marathon every day, I thought, I can at least run 5km every day. The logistics of shift work meant that on some days, my only option really was cycling, and so just before the turn of the year I set myself the challenge to either run 5km, or cycle 25km, every day of 2023.
It's been tough going at times, but also very rewarding; I ran my first half-marathon in May, took on the UK's toughest parkrun, and very recently I cycled my furthest ever distance in one day - 107km. Now, with a little less than 100 days of my challenge to go, I'd really like to do some good by raising money for charities that are close to my heart.
In May I raised money for my employer's partnered charity The Wildlife Trusts and I'm proud to once again be raising money to support their work. The Wildlife Trusts and their supporters are here to make the world wilder and make nature part of life, for everyone. They're helping to make life better – for wildlife, for people and for future generations.
