Stuart Norris memorial ride 2026:

This August I’m taking on the Stuart Norris memorial ride. This is an annual ride organised by the Portakabin Cycling Club that my dad set up in 2014. After my dad’s passing in 2024 the club have done a 49 mile ride to honour every year that he was with us. I have pressed his trusty Cannondale back into service and will be riding it for this event.

The ride starts at Portakabin HQ in Huntington and takes in many roads that dad had covered commuting over the years as well as some of his favourite places. This is going to be a really tough challenge for me as a novice cyclist, but spurred on by the club members, the memories of my dad over the years as well as being on the bike that he’d ridden many thousands of miles on I’m sure I’ll get through (probably with a few sore bits in unmentionable places).

Dad was an avid supporter of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and had raised over £60,000 I’m hoping to add to this total.
